Introducing Salt and Honey Clothing: Our Mission to Bring Light and Conversation to the World
Hi, friends! My name is Micaela, a mother of five and the founder of Salt and Honey Clothing. At Salt and Honey Clothing, we’re proud to be a Christian-owned-and-operated business run by a husband-and-wife team. Our mission is simple: to encourage our customers to start conversations about Jesus Christ through Christian clothing. SHC started in 2021, when I faced the challenge of sharing my faith with others and starting conversations about the gospel. To overcome this hurdle, I began designing Christian apparel that boldly proclaims the name of Jesus. Now, we have the opportunity to help others spread the light and love of Christ in a world that so desperately needs it.
The Journey
Our journey began with a simple goal in mind: to spread the message of the gospel through shirts. We understood the power that even a basic "Jesus Loves You" shirt could possess, and we recognized that many believers struggled to share their faith with others. Our aim was to build a community of believers who shared our vision of impacting the world, one shirt at a time. We remain committed to following the Lord's guidance as we strive to serve our community every day.
The Significance Behind Salt and Honey Clothing
Our name embodies our mission as Christians; to be the salt of the earth while using words that are sweet as honey. As stated in Mathew 5:13-16, we are called to be the salt of the earth. Salt is often used to enhance the flavor of food, but if it has no flavor, then it has no value. Similarly, as followers of Jesus, we are called to "season" the world and make a positive impact on those around us. We should strive to stand out and make a difference, rather than blending in with society. Just as seasoning brings out the best in food, we hope to bring out the best in people.
As Christians, how we communicate with others is of utmost importance. The words we speak have the ability to either uplift or tear down. "Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweet and delightful to the soul, healing to the body." Proverbs 16:24.
We must use our words to breathe life into every situation and every individual, allowing the love and light of Jesus to shine through in all that we say and do. Romans 2:4 emphasizes that it is God's love and kindness that drives us to repentance and Romans 8:29 reminds us that we are meant to embody the image of Jesus. Therefore, it is crucial that we always lead with love, communicating in a way that reflects the compassion and mercy of God striving to be kind, patient, and understanding, just as God is with us. By doing so, we can create a community that reflects God's love and brings glory to His name. Let us therefore be intentional in how we communicate with those around us, always seeking to be a light in the darkness and a source of hope and encouragement.
Our main goal is to make a positive impact in people's lives, while always pointing them towards Jesus. We give all of the glory to God and are humbled to serve and inspire those who shop with us. Our team is dedicated to spreading hope, light and encouragement to every individual who crosses our path.
